 | 15/02/2010 Hilson Moran establishes a strong presence at Ecobuild 2010 Hilson Moran has established a strong presence at this year’s Ecobuild taking place at Earls Court from 2 to 4 March.
Quentin Dawson, one of our sustainability consultants, will be speaking at a seminar on Getting Water Wise on Wednesday, 3 March.
We will also be hosting two workshops within the Ecobuild Fringe seminar programme on Sustainable Masterplanning and Refurbishment. This is the first year that the Fringe programme has been held and more than 100 exhibitors, sponsors and partners are taking part.
The Sustainable Masterplanning workshop will be held on Wednesday, 3 March at 3.00pm. The workshop will explain how the Sustainable Built Environment Tool (SuBET), launched by the practice in October 2009, can be used to provide the highest level of analysis into the multiple impacts of masterplanning design. Developed in conjunction with experts from Dundee and Reading Universities, SuBET offers a comprehensive rating scheme and assessment framework for the sustainability of a major masterplan, incorporating over 80 indicators of a scheme's environmental, social, cultural and economic impacts.
The Refurbishment workshop will be held on Thursday, 4 March at 12.45pm. Contributors to the recently published, BCO-endorsed research document Can do Refurbishment, will be presenting their findings. They will discuss the opportunities and incentives for refurbishment projects and the engineering and carbon benefits of refurbishing existing non-domestic buildings.
