Early observations can be made regarding the implementation of the Building Environmental Strategy though examining the local site environmental characteristics. Observations are made using a number of measurable criteria such as climatic data, site topology and pollution.

To speed up the process we have weather files from over 300 locations worldwide, with hour by hour data for variables such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, cloud cover and solar intensity.
Observations of temperature variation can give an early indication on the suitability of mixed mode and natural ventilation strategies, whilst predominant wind direction information can provide useful indication as to the best building orientation and shape so as to efficiently derive the most benefit from prevailing winds.

Observations of local pollution sources such a noise and air bourne contaminants can also be used to tune these strategies and give early indication of possible requirements for protection methods, such as landscaping and placement of building openings.
