The visual performance of the internal environment makes a lasting impression on occupants and affects a range of physiological and productivity related issues. |
Numerical modelling techniques are used to study a wide range of visual performance indicators for both natural and artificial lighting scenarios. These range from quantifying daylight availability, measuring sunlight levels and artificial lighting design optimisation. |

All methods define in detail the physical nature of the light emitting properties whether from the sun, sky or artificial source and combine this with detailed description of the physical surface properties of the space.
The results from these studies provide two types of output; the first being engineering data detailing lighting levels and associated measures of occupant comfort and the second using visualisation to provide the client with photo realistic representation of the space. |
