Buildings are one of the heaviest consumers of natural resources, and account for a significant portion of the greenhouse gas emissions that affect climate change. In the UK, buildings account for around 45% of all CO2 emissions.
Currently, many of the systems installed within buildings are managed independently, and many of these are not managed for their occupancy needs, energy efficiency or thermal effects. A lack of standards and differences in technology isolates these systems from each other and makes central control and management difficult to implement.
Hilson Moran’s team of intelligent buildings consultants, each specialising in their own individual areas (IT and communications, controls, audio visual and security and access controls), works collectively to develop systems that can operate within communications infrastructures based around proven IT technology.
Intelligent buildings are energy and resource efficient, non-polluting and non-wasteful, flexible, adaptable and easy to operate. They also provide an environment for their occupants, which exhibit enhanced comfort levels and are conducive to increased levels of interaction, collaboration and work productivity. |
